How does the Blackwater Alert™ System work?

How to avoid basement flooding from septic or sewer backup

This is how it works!

Watch this brief video demonstration to better understand how the Blackwater Alert functions when sewer or septic backup is occurring. The drain port with release valve gives the homeowner or plumber an access point to gently release pressure which controls messy blackwater spray and limits costly cleanup. Once the pressure is relieved, the plumber can easily remove the Blackwater Alert device and snake the blockage in the waste line.

How Blackwater Alert™ has helped people just like you

A restaurant owner in New Hampshire installed a Blackwater Alert™ on his waste line which detected a clogged grease trap backup. This avoided a backup into the restaurant and prevented closure of the eatery due to unsanitary conditions.

A homeowner who had experienced septic flooding in his basement installed 2 Blackwater Alerts -- one on his public waste line and one on his older private waste line that serviced a back apartment.

A licensed plumber installs Blackwater Alert™ devices on all of the newly constructed homes that he is contracted to plumb.

Blackwater Alert™ participated at the 2019 National Hardware Show in Las Vegas. Since the device was recently invented and patented, the company was featured in the Inventor's Row spotlight. The device was presented to a panel of judges for discussion and display.

How Blackwater Alert Has Helped People Just Like You.

I own commercial properties and residential rentals at Lake Sunapee. I’ve installed Blackwater Alert in every property so that I can avoid the potential costly and destructive effects of a septic line backing up. I sincerely believe that no home should be without one, and that Blackwater Alert should be part of all new construction. It’s easy to install and the alert system allows you to focus on other things rather than worrying about potential property damage. I highly recommend Blackwater Alert to other property managers and every homeowner!

I just finished the installation this morning and everything went exceptionally well. I used a rubber connection just in case we need to snake the line from the inside even though there is an outdoor cleaning as well. The peace of mind that this will provide is unmeasurable because we recently had a septic backup even though our house is only 2 years old!

How to prevent sewer backup in your basement?
By Blackwater Alert™ 02 May, 2022
Sewer backups are unfortunately a disaster if your waste system is not properly maintained. Know what you flush into the toilet; be wary of kids’ small toys that accidentally fall into a toilet or sink. Pouring grease into your drain may solidify later and cause a backup
